Dr. Katherine Murphy

Dr. Katherine Murphy was born in West Germany, the daughter of an Air Force officer and a London born Mother. She lived abroad in Europe most of her young life and graduated from the American High School in Frankfurt, Germany. She settled in Athens, Georgia to attend the University of Georgia and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1982.

In 1986, she began working in Clearwater. Many of her clients she has known for more than 20 years. She believes it is absolutely essential to have a great relationship with not only her patients but also the pets’ owners. She enjoys surgery and dermatology cases. A second opinion case is always a challenge. She is intent on finding the “correct” answer to every problem. “Veterinary medicine is similar to forensics. Pets give us the clues. We just have to figure out the answer.”

She is married to Ron Valicoff and has three children; Sean, Michelle and Zach. Her interests include boxing and fitness at her husband’s Clearwater gym and Pure Barre.
